HSBC | Brilliant Basics
PROJECT
HSBC's Head of Digital Marketing was looking for a way to get a high level overview of multiple sources of marketing data in a simple tablet-based interface. Additionally, his regional heads and others working in his department should have access to this data but filtered to their region.
PROCESS
I led a design and development team, and worked closely with the digital marketing team to create a dashboard design. We built an initial HTML prototype, and then the full product. The focus was on pulling in data and creating clear and simple data visualisations from which insights could be drawn and actioned. The system also needed a way to filter and manipulate the data to create new data visualisations which could be shared with other team members.
OUTCOME
I created a Pinterest style system of ‘data’ boards on which users could pin graphs and charts which they had created or found one the system. Users could find charts that had been created by other users and then pin them to their boards.
